Description: The games are more gorgeous than ever now but sometimes we all miss the originals. For this project, I designed a close-up shot of the old gaming console called “Micro Genius”. Mario was one of the first video games that I have ever played. That’s why I decided to put the Mario cartridge into the console and plug it to the TV.

I wanted to create a realistic looking environment and twist it with vintage/dreamy looking lighting.

I aimed to keep my poly-count as low as possible and designed this scene as a game-environment.

Attention to detail was really important for this project. After modelling and UV-mapping in Maya, I imported the models into Substance Painter to add them flaws, details, memories and life.
